New Delhi: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has recently acquired his second cricket franchise, expanding his business portfolio and adding to the explosive cricket format in the T10 league. Sanjay Dutt was previously one of the the owners of the Pakistani Super League cricket franchise Lahore Qalandars. Harare Hurricanes cricket franchise has been acquired by the well-known Bollywood actor.

The IPL is the most popular cricket league competition of all time, but Zimbabwe T10 cricket is quickly overtaking it as the game’s fastest format. The Harare Hurricanes squad, which will compete in the Zimbabwe T10 cricket league, has been acquired by Sanjay Dutt.

Speaking at a media interaction following the team’s purchase in Zimbabwe, Sanjay Dutt expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Cricket is akin to a religion in India, and as one of the major cricketing nations, I believe it is our responsibility to expand the game to every corner of the world. Zimbabwe has a rich cricketing history, and it brings me immense joy to be associated with it and provide fans with an exhilarating experience. I am eagerly looking forward to the Harare Hurricanes’ success in the Zim Afro T10 league.”

The importance of the investment is made clear by the fact that the contract to purchase the Harare Hurricanes is expected to be worth several crores. Franchise cricket is first played in Zimbabwe in the Zim Afro T10 league, which has five independently owned teams vying for the prized championship. Durban Qalandars, Cape Town Samp Army, Bulawayo Braves, and Joburg Lions are the other four participating teams in the competition.
