What If – A series of changes that the points table may see as the first double-header awaits

After 18 intense matches of cricket that saw five teams putting everything on the line for a hallowed play-off spot, it is going to be an exciting day of cricket at the Harare Sports Club to determine the four teams that would head to the play-offs.

However, before we deep into the last day’s relentless madness, here is how the points table look like and how it may shuffle with today’s results:

Cape Town Sam Army has already qualified with four wins from eight games and they also have a healthy NRR of +0.610. The Qalandars have also sealed a spot for themselves in the knock-outs due to their healthy NRR but in which position they will finish the campaign is very much unclear.

If they win the tie against the Braves, then they will clinch the peak of the points table with ten points and a very healthy NRR. However, if they lose, the Braves remain in the hunt and leapfrogs the Buffaloes into the fourth spot.

The Hurricanes may have seized four wins but if they fall against the Buffaloes and the Braves win against the Qalandars, then they may crash out while the Buffaloes and the Braves head to the next round because of a superior net run rate.
