It rained fours and sixes on day 2 of US Masters T10 as the California Knights chronicled the highest score of the tournament until now while Morrisville Unity notched up their first win, clinching a high-octane thriller against New Jersey Triton’s in a low-scoring affair.
Batting first, the Knights clobbered 158 runs with Jacques Kallis staying unbeaten on 64 from 31 balls while Milind Kumar stole the show with an unbeaten 28-ball-76 that saw him hammering seven fours and six sixes.
Chasing a monumental total, the Texas Chargers fell face-first as they could only garner 110 runs, with Mukhtar Ahmed being the highest scorer with a 10-ball-33 while Upul Tharanga’s 19-ball-27 offered them promise but not the dynamics that can help you win a high-scoring match-up. Ashley Nurse was the pick of the bowling lot for the Knights with figures of 2-0-12-3 that saw him clinching the scalps of Mukhtar, Ben Dunk and Neil Broom.

In the final match of the day after the second contest was washed out, it was a cut and run encounter where Morrisville Unity prevailed under pressure to secure the bragging rights by the skin of their teeth against the Triton’s.
Batting first the Tritons could pile up 95/3, courtesy of Yusuf Pathan’s hard-hitting that saw him knitting 41 from just 21 balls.
Morrisville had an early scare as Yusuf Pathan appeared to be a gamechanger with the ball in his hand as well, clinching two early wickets in the form of Parthiv Patel and Shehan Jayasuriya.
However, it was another thunderous showdown from Obus Pienaar, that saw Unity come close to the finish line.

Pienaar smashed 33 from 17 balls before Corey Anderson and Calvin Savage could finally win it for Unity with one ball to spare. Yusuf Pathan’s double whammy saw him leading the charge with the ball too but it simply wasn’t enough for the Triton’s to secure a victory.
