Reliving the chaos and madness of the first super over of Zim Afro T10

What an incredible day it was at the Harare Sports Club on Day five of Zim Afro T10 as the matches witnessed absolutely crazy brilliance while the results were separated by hair’s length from each other. Barring the numbers, the action that was witnessed exceeded all expectations.

However, standing out amidst all the intense action was that crucial super over that was probably the most stand-out act of the day. Here is a quick glance of how the super over panned out between Cape Town Samp Army and the Harare Hurricanes.

Nandre Burger was the one to bowl the over for the Hurricanes and he started off on a fine note as he clinched a wicket on the very second ball of the over, clinching the massive scalp of Rahmanullah Gurbaz. However, he followed it up with a couple of dot balls that defined the true essence of Nandre’s miserly demeanour with the cherry in his hands as the Samp Army could only pile up seven runs from their Super Over.

Peter Hatzoglou couldn’t really get things going despite bowling a very tight line. Boundaries didn’t really come forth but the singles kept on coming. With two needed off the final ball, Mohammad Nabi went with all his power and ended up skying his effort. What should have been a regulation take but then the game instead of heading the way of the Cape Town Samp Army tilted towards the Hurricanes as El Presidente ran a couple of runs to secure a thrilling victory.
