The Abu Dhabi T10 Season 6 continued to deliver fireworks on Tuesday, November 29, courtesy of some sensational power-hitting.
Although the batters stole the show at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, the bowlers also played a decisive part in the three games.
While Peter Hatzoglou and Andrew Tye bowled top spells, Iftikhar Ahmed and Dan Lawrence played decisive knocks. Tim David tonked Luke Fletcher for four consecutive sixes.
However, Carlos Brathwaite’s sensational hitting against Andre Russell, which also involved quadruple sixes, was the Moment of the Day.

Chasing a stiff target of 109 against Deccan Gladiators, The Chennai Braves managed to maintain a healthy run rate at the start, scoring 43 in four overs. After Dawid Malan’s dismissal, Carlos Brathwaite walked into the middle.
Bowling the fifth over, Russell came up against Brathwaite on his second ball. The Braves’ all-rounder smashed a low full toss flat over Russell’s head for a six. Despite a slower ball next up, Brathwaite cleared his left leg and deposited it over the deep mid-wicket fence.
Under pressure on the fourth ball, Russell bowled back of a length. However, Brathwaite pulled it over the same fence for yet another six. Reminiscent of the 2016 T20 World Cup final, Brathwaite smashed his fourth six in the over, this time long and handsome over long-off. But Russell restricted the 34-year-old Barbados all-rounder to a couple of runs on the final delivery.
Brathwaite’s heroics put The Chennai Braves firmly on course for victory. James Fuller and Sikandar Raza’s watchful cameos helped the Braves win by six wickets.
Earlier in the match, Jason Roy and Tom Kohler-Cadmore, the English opening pair, scored 79 runs in 6.2 overs to set up a potentially massive total for the Gladiators.
However, Raza and Brathwaite restricted the Englishmen along with Russell and Nicholas Pooran. They scored only 29 runs from the last 22 balls to end at 108/3.
Team Abu Dhabi notch second win of ADT10 Season 6
In the first match on Tuesday, Team Abu Dhabi, powered by Peter Hatzoglou and Andrew Tye, registered their second win of the Abu Dhabi T10 2022, beating Morrisville Samp Army by 18 runs.
Batting first, Chris Lynn and James Vince got Abu Dhabi off to a good start, despite the early wicket of Alex Hales. The pair stitched a 71-run partnership. Fabian Allen added the finishing touches with 14 off 10 to take the side to 100/3 in 10 overs.
Hatzoglou and Tye produced magic with the ball early in the Samp Army run chase. Thanks to their three-fer’s, along with two wickets from Allen, the Moeen Ali-led side was reduced to 28/8 in 6.1 overs.
However, Basil Hameed restored some pride with his 18-ball 47. Samp Army ended up scoring 82/9 in 10 overs.
Bangla Tigers seal thrilling win despite Tim David heroics
Looking for their second win this season, Delhi Bulls and Bangla Tigers faced off in the last match on Tuesday. The Tigers came up trumps, winning by 12 runs.
The Bulls won the toss and opted to bowl first. It seemed like the decision had paid rich dividends after both Tigers’ openers, Joe Clarke and Hazratullah Zazai, were dismissed by the fourth over with the score 38/2.
However, it was the Iftikhar Ahmed show from there on. While smashing eight massive sixes and five fours, Ahmed steamrolled the Bulls’ bowling with his 83 off 30 balls, the highest individual score this season. Thanks to Colin Munro’s steady but able support, the two registered an unbeaten 95-run stand. The Tigers amassed 133 runs in 10 overs.
After a subdued start to the run chase, while losing opening Tom Banton and Rilee Rossouw, the Bulls picked up the pace in the second half of the innings. Jordan Cox provided the impetus with a 21-ball 34. Keemo Paul also smashed 10 off six towards the end.
In the final over, Tim David smashed Luke Fletcher for four sixes on the bounce. David hammered the first two sixes off full deliveries while heaving the other two short balls over the deep mid-wicket fence. But it was not enough, as the Tigers could only score 121/3 in their full quota of overs.
