Jonny Bairstow has signed a short-term deal with T10 side Kerala Knights.

Bairstow was named Man of the Match in this week’s third Test against Sri Lanka, after marking his return to the side with a matchwinning 110 in the first innings at Colombo. He will leave for the UAE this evening while his England team-mates prepare to fly home at the end of their 3-0 series win.

Bairstow is set to link up with his England white-ball captain, Eoin Morgan, Kerala Knights’ captain, as well as his ODI team-mate Tom Curran and other stars of the white-ball game, including the West Indies pair of Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard.

Knights, formerly Kerala Kings, are the inaugural T10 champions, having beaten Punjabi Legends in last year’s final in Sharjah.

Bairstow could be in the UAE for less than a week. He will be available for Knights’ two remaining group matches, against Northern Warriors and Bengal Tigers on November 29 and 30, and then, if the team qualifies, the knock-out stages, with the final scheduled for December 2.
