Nicholas Pooran continued his golden touch in the Abu Dhabi T10 Season 6, smashing yet another half-century in the tournament on Wednesday. He remained unbeaten on 50 off just 16 deliveries, which included one four and seven big sixes.

Pooran goes berserk

Deccan Gladiators’ captain Nicholas Pooran also produced the Moment of the Day at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in the fifth over of the run chase against Bangla Tigers.

In a “skipper vs skipper” battle, Pooran emerged triumphant in the most glorious way, hitting five sixes in the over.

After two slog sweeps towards square leg, Pooran cleared the extra-cover boundary to make it three sixes in a row. Shakib pulled back one dot ball, but conceded two more sixes to complete 30 runs in the over.

Earlier in the match, Iftikhar Ahmed’s quickfire half-century (54 in 21 balls) helped Bangla Tigers cross the 100-run mark. They finished with 108/6 in 10 overs, with Shakib hitting two boundaries in the final over.

However, Pooran’s explosive knock, in the company of Tom Kohler-Cadmore (50 off 21 balls), helped the Deccan Gladiators chase down a 109-target in just 37 deliveries.

Team Abu Dhabi clinch low-scoring thriller against Chennai Braves

Naveen-ul-Haq produced a sensational opening over to kick-start Wednesday’s action for the local team, where he conceded one run and picked up three big wickets.

A couple of noteworthy cameos from Carlos Brathwaite and James Fuller towards the end of the innings got The Chennai Braves to 71/6 in 10 overs.

Interestingly, even Team Abu Dhabi lost three wickets in a span of six deliveries early on in the innings. Chris Lynn (39 in 25 balls) and Fabian Allen (33 in 21 balls) steadied the ship before completing the run chase in 8.4 overs.

Morgan stars in scintillating run chase

Eoin Morgan powered the New York Strikers to a sensational victory, as they defeated Northern Warriors by five wickets off the last ball of the match.

Earlier, Usman Khan provided the Warriors a terrific start, smashing 48 runs off 25 balls.

They went on to finish on a power-packed note with Powell scoring his second fifty of the tournament. He remained unbeaten on 54 off just 19 deliveries, which included two fours and six giant sixes. They registered 143/3 in 10 overs.

Morgan remained unbeaten on 87 off 35 deliveries, which included 12 fours and three sixes. He did bulk of the scoring in the second innings, with no other batter scoring 20 runs.

The Strikers needed four runs to win off the final ball and the English batter scooped Junaid Siddique for a four over fine leg to complete a memorable win. New York Strikers now hold the record for the highest total of the sixth edition (144/5).
