The Abu Dhabi T10 extravaganza continued on Saturday with a huge crowd turning up for the weekend matches. There was no dearth of entertainment across the three games on the day, but Keemo Paul walked away with the best moment of the evening.

In the third and final match on Saturday, Keemo Paul turned out to be the saviour for the Delhi Bulls, who were struggling at 60/4 after eight overs. The Caribbean batter attacked George Garton in the ninth over, smashing three sixes and a four to accumulate 24 runs.

Paul’s power-hitting was in full swing in this over as he smashed two sixes over square leg and another one cleared the long boundary over mid-wicket. His knock helped the Bulls get to a respectable 94/5 in 10 overs.

However, Johnson Charles’ half-century propelled Morrisville Samp Army to their second win in ADT10 2022. Charles remained unbeaten on 58 off 22 balls, which included 10 fours and two sixes.

They completed the run-chase in 7.4 overs and won the match by eight wickets.

Morgan’s late heroics end Gladiators’ unbeaten run

Deccan Gladiators suffered their first defeat of the ADT10 Season 6 against newcomers New York Strikers in the opening match of the day. Batting first, Gladiators lost half their side in five overs with just 37 runs on the board.

A terrific finish from Odeon Smith (38 in 19 balls) saw the batting side breach the 100-mark, finishing with 109/7 in 10 overs.

The Strikers’ scoring rate wasn’t up to the mark in the early phase of the run chase but a gem of a finish by Eoin Morgan, who remained unbeaten on 42 off 23 balls, and Azam Khan (26 in 20 balls) in a supporting role saw the debutants through.

Hales and Lynn drown the Warriors

ADT10’s most successful team, the Northern Warriors, are off to a horrible start, losing their third successive game this edition. Skipper Rovman Powell (29 runs in 10 balls) led by example and took the side to a commendable 95/7 in their 10 overs.

Alex Hales and Chris Lynn smashed 41 runs in the powerplay overs, and went on to add 70 runs for the first wicket in seven overs. James Vince finished the run chase with a 12-ball 18 as Team Abu Dhabi picked up their first win of the season.

Hales was named Player of the Match for his 25-ball 44.
