Andre Russell and man-of-the-match Tom Moores shared an unbeaten 94-run partnership to help Deccan Gladiators post 146/5 – the highest score of season 5 of the Abu Dhabi T10 so far.

Dre Russ scored 43 off 17 balls with three fours and four sixes while Moores hit 47 in 17 balls – bludgeoning two fours and five sixes.

The relentless scoring put Deccan Gladiators in a position of strength going into the innings break and despite fifties from Ravi Bopara and Angelo Perera, The Chennai Braves were unable to overhaul the target in their Abu Dhabi T10 debut.

We look back at what went on in matchday 2.

Wahab Riaz then took out Mohammad Shahzad and Bhanuka Rajapaksa in his first over while only giving away five runs in a perfect start for the Deccan Gladiators.

Angelo Perera and Ravi Bopara then combined for a 109-run partnership but were not able to keep up with the high required scoring rate despite taking more than 17 runs in three different overs. However, it was not enough to overhaul Deccan Gladiators.

Brief scores: Deccan Gladiators 146/3 (Tom Moores 47*, Munaf Patel 1-20) beat The Chennai Braves 122/4 (Angelo Perera 60, Wahab Riaz 2-16) by 24 runs
