The Abu Dhabi T10 League is back for its sixth edition and fans are eagerly looking forward to another season of muscle, drama and thrill.
The tournament has been hosting global superstars to entertain the audience in the newest and shortest format of the game.
And once again, Abu Dhabi extends its hospitality to another edition of the T10 League in anticipation of more big hits and stumps getting shattered.
As we gear up for the upcoming edition of the Abu Dhabi T10, which begins on November 23, here are five reasons why you must watch the tournament this season.
1. Bigger, and better!
There are two new additions to the Abu Dhabi T10 family this year – New York Strikers and Morrisville Samp Army, making the league ever-more exciting. The two new teams are also bringing in more of the short format stars to the stage, which means more entertainment than ever before.
Kieron Pollard will lead the New York Strikers, while David Miller, who is enjoying a purple patch in 2022, was chosen as the icon player for the Morrisville Samp Army.
2. Major global cricketing superstars under one roof
From the muscle power of Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell and David Miller to the class of Suresh Raina and Shakib Al Hasan – ADT10 brings together a pool of global talents in the shortest format, who add such a rich vein of stardom to the tournament.
Former English captain Eoin Morgan, two-time T20 World Cup winner Dwayne Bravo, Carlos Brathwaite whose name we all “remember”, South African speedster Anrich Nortje who bowls as quick as anyone in the world, Chris Lynn the highest run-scorer in BBL history. The list goes on and on.
3. T10 is the future!
The Abu Dhabi T10 League was the first of its kind to receive the official sanction from International Cricket Council (ICC) and is licensed by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).
It gave rise to multiple T10 Leagues across the world, including in many European countries where cricket isn’t the most popular sport. The tournament is playing a vital role in globalising the sport as well.
4. Rich in diversity, hub of opportunity
The Abu Dhabi T10 League brings together players from 14 countries – including UAE, USA, Bangladesh, West Indies, New Zealand, India, Afghanistan, Ireland, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England, Australia, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
It also provides a platform for young cricketers to garner attention from their national team or other cricket leagues in the world.
5. Entertainment, entertainment and entertainment!
The format offers no room for any individual to settle in, making it action-packed, thrilling and fast-paced. The stakes are high for the batting department, who look to find boundaries more often than the other formats, making every ball an event in itself.
To put it simply, the Abu Dhabi T10 offers double the fun in a shorter span of time. 90 minutes is all it takes, just as much as a movie, a football match or an F1 race.
