After a short wait, we are one day away from season 5 of the Abu Dhabi T10, which begins its 15-day season at the Zayed Cricket Stadium on Friday, November 19.
The league has six teams this time round - defending champions Northern Warriors, last season’s finalists Delhi Bulls, Bangla Tigers, Team Abu Dhabi, Deccan Gladiators and new entrants The Chennai Braves.
The six teams will play a total of 30 league matches, 10 matches per team, of which the top four teams will progress to the knockout stages.
The top two will play in Qualifier 1, from which the winner will progress to the final. The third and fourth teams will play the Eliminator, the winner of which will make it to Qualifier 2, where they will take on the loser from Qualifier 1.
The winners of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 will contest the final for the ultimate prize.
There will typically be two matches a day in the league stages and on four occasions, a triple header is scheduled.
After 10 days of non-stop action, the teams will have a break on Tuesday, November 30.
Both qualifiers and the eliminator will be played on Friday, December 3 while the third-place playoff and the final will be held on Saturday, December 4.
The league has some old guards - Windies legends like Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle and Andre Russell; Namibian star David Wiese and Irish veteran Paul Stirling.
The more exciting aspect are the newcomers - the debutants to the league which include former Proteas captain Faf du Plessis (Bangla Tigers) and World Cup champion Yusuf Pathan (The Chennai Braves).
